My name is Jane Langton. I am now in my 7th year at Al Muna Academy. I am living here in Abu Dhabi with my husband and our two dogs. Our children live in London and Beijing. I spend my time reading, cooking, horseriding, skiing and travelling. I like to bake brownies and cakes and my husband bakes bread so we keep very busy in our kitchen! We enjoy going to visit new places and I am excited to go to Japan to ski this year.

I love teaching at Al Muna Academy because we encourage the children to take responsibility for their learning and to be independent. We are all very creative and learn in exciting ways which are always fun.
This year I enjoyed our learning about Ancient Egypt especially when we mummified a tomato and waited 60 days to see what happened to it. I always enjoy teaching maths. I will never forget doing M&M's day in Year 1 and using food to learn about our fractions. This year we made pizzas to help us to think about quarters. My very favourite time of the week is circle time which we call moral education. We talk about how to be good friends and how to work and play together harmoniously. We also play lots of great games together to help us to bond as a class. Wink Dectective is a great favourite as well as Pirate’s Treasure.

I have worked in FS2, Y1, Y3 and as a learning support teacher here.  One of my favourite events at school is International Day because we can taste food from many different countries offered by the mothers of our students. We also get to find out interesting facts about the countries that many of our children come from.

I have taught in schools in the UK, USA, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Al Muna is the best ever!
